Outside No 8, Caralyn Elmer

I recently took a trip along the university part of the WWW trail from signposts 11 down to 8 and along part of the Wivenhoe Trail back to Valley Road under campus. It was a lovely Spring midweek midday and it was lovely to go from the chatter and clatter of university sounds to noises of nature in a matter of minutes. From the hubbub of north accommodation to the rattle and hum of trains under the bridge to the whirring of boats and waterworks to finally birdsong and pattering of beaks and feet on the quayside to a gentle hush of reeds and grasses. A jolly nice way to get out of your head and spend an hour. Highly recommended.
